Protection controls and their limits Print

Understand the control you are enabling

Take-profit, stop-loss and trailing controls have strategy- and build-specific rules. Review whether the control monitors a position, bot equity or another measure, and whether it runs in AIE or at the exchange.

Application-managed protection

Application-managed protection depends on the application, account permissions, market data and exchange being available. It does not guarantee an exact exit price. Gaps, spread, fees and partial fills can affect the outcome.

Before relying on a control

  • Confirm it is implemented for your supplied build, strategy and venue.
  • Understand how the relevant price, average entry and fees are calculated.
  • Review behaviour when the bot is paused, services restart, or an order fails.
  • Check the supported simulation and the version-specific operating guide.

Do not infer live protection from the tour

A dashed line or simulated exit in the public demo is an explanation of the interface, not an exchange order or a live protection guarantee.
